Christopher J. Obey is president of Automotive, a segment of the High Reliability Solutions business group at Flex (NASDAQ: FLEX). Flex is a $26B, industry-leading, Fortune Global 500 Sketch-to-ScaleTM solutions company that designs and builds intelligent products for a connected world with a global workforce of 200,000 and operations in over 30 countries. In this role, he leads a global team with an emphasis on providing electronics and emerging technology based solutions for the automotive industry.
Mr. Obey joined Flex from the Lear Corporation where he served in a variety of positions since 1997 including president Asian Operations, vice president China Operations and vice president of Global Purchasing.
Prior to his roles at the Lear Corporation, Mr. Obey was the general manager for MTD Products Inc, where he was responsible for factory and distribution operations. He also served in progressive roles including accounting, finance, sales and marketing.
Mr. Obey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration in Strategic Management from Baldwin Wallace College.
He has also attended several executive education programs, most notably the MIT Sloan Executive Leadership program and is a frequent speaker on panels associated with the future of mobility and cars.
Mr. Obey serves on the board of directors for the Original Equipment Supplier Association (OESA).
